Music Videos that influenced me
Music Video Meltdown is a monthly stream run by Marisa DeMarini and in January 2022 She invited me to curate a block of music videos. As a professional failed music video director, I jumped at the chance.
When I first moved to LA in 2012, I hit the ground running with the aim of being a commercial and music video director. During the next 10 years, that didn’t happen, but during my pursuit I exposed myself to some incredible and influential videos that still shape how I direct and edit to this day. Looking back on these videos, I can see so many of their influences in my work from my own music videos in my early LA days to my more recent edits with the radical Racer Trash.
I’m proud of this block I curated, so I wanted to share it here for all to enjoy a short walk through my brain.
